Clearing a Transaction by Number in Omaha/TSYS

You may need to clear a specific transaction on an Omaha/TSYS terminal for several operational or troubleshooting reasons, including:

⚠️ Reasons You May Need to Clear a Transaction from the Batch
  • A duplicate transaction was processed and needs to be removed before settlement.
  • The transaction was entered in error (wrong amount, wrong card, or accidental key press).
  • A partially completed or interrupted transaction remains in the batch and is causing issues.
  • The terminal displays batch imbalance or mismatch errors, and clearing the incorrect transaction resolves the discrepancy.
  • A void or adjustment did not process correctly, leaving the original transaction still stored.
  • Technical troubleshooting—support teams may request clearing a specific item to isolate an issue.

Follow the steps below to complete this process.

Steps to Clear a Transaction by Number

  1. On the terminal, press Func
  2. Select Settings
  3. When prompted for a password, enter today’s date using the MMDDYYYY format.
  4. Navigate to Other Settings
  5. Choose Clear by Trans
  6. Enter the Transaction Number (located on the receipt).
  7. If the terminal displays “Are you sure?”, select Yes to confirm.

Clearing by transaction number removes only the specified transaction from the terminal’s memory and does not affect any other stored transactions.
