Insert a SIM Card and Configure APN Settings on the PAX A920

Overview

This guide walks you through installing a SIM card in the PAX A920 terminal, verifying cellular detection, and configuring the correct APN settings for AT&T/OPT Connect connectivity.

1. Install the SIM Card

    1. Power off the A920.

    2. Remove the back cover and take out the battery.

    3. Insert the SIM card into the left slot, with the indent facing the top-right, as shown in the device diagram.

    4. Reinsert the battery, close the cover, and lock it in place.

    5. Power on the terminal by pressing side button for 5 seconds.

2. Confirm SIM Card Detection

    1. Once the device boots, the screen will indicate that a SIM card has been detected.

    2. Tap Set to proceed to the SIM configuration screen.

    3. You will also notice that Wi-Fi automatically turns off, confirming that cellular data is now active.

3. Configure Cellular Network & APN Settings

    1. From the home screen, go to Settings.

    2. Select MoreCellular Networks.

    3. Tap Access Point Names (APNs).

    4. Create a new APN:

      1. Name: ATT HSPA+

      2. APN: OPTconnect01.com.ATTZ

    5. Save the new APN.

    6. Delete all other APNs so only the newly created APN remains.

4. Verify Network Settings

    1. Go back to Cellular Networks.

    2. Confirm Network Type is set to Automatic.

    3. Ensure Airplane Mode is OFF.

    4. Return to the home screen and look for the 4G icon, confirming the terminal is successfully connected via the SIM card.

Result: Your PAX A920 terminal should now be fully connected using the installed SIM card and the correct APN configuration.
