How to disable a Valor Terminal but leave the Valor account open

To disable a specific Valor terminal while keeping the merchant’s Valor account active, ensuring only selected devices are deactivated without interrupting overall account operations. 

  1. In the Valor Portal, select Merchant Management
  2. Search for the merchant using the search bar. 
  3. When your merchant appears, click on Devices
  4. Scroll right and click the ellipsis () next to the device you want to disable, then select Edit

  5. In the top-right corner, locate Status: Enabled and toggle the circle to Disable

  6. Repeat this process for any additional devices that need to be disabled. 

 

To reactivate a terminal 

To restore a previously disabled Valor terminal to active status, allowing it to resume normal transaction processing after being re-enabled in the Valor Portal. 

  1. Edit the device again and toggle the Status back to Enable
  2. Select Save & Exit
  3. On the terminal, tap the key → press #6 → then Enter to update the device. 
  4. Once the update is completed, the terminal is ready for use. 

 

To deactivate or Reactivate an Entire account 

To guide users through reactivating individual Valor terminals or managing full account status changes, ensuring proper device functionality and accurate merchant account management within the Valor Portal. 

  1. Return to Merchant Management and search for the merchant account.

  2. Click the ellipsis () to the right of the DBA name. 
  3. Choose Deactivate to inactivate the account or reactivate to reopen it.
