Connect or Forget Wi-Fi on Valor VL Series?

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for connecting a Valor VL Series terminal to a Wi-Fi network or forgetting a previously connected network.

 

1. Access the Utility Menu

  • From the main screen, navigate to the three lines [≡] at the bottom of the screen.

  • Press the 🡇 down arrow until you reach Utility, then select it.

  • When prompted, enter the password (last 4 digits of the EPI shown on the terminal’s screen).

2. Navigate to Wi-Fi Settings

  • Select Comm Config.

  • Select Config.

  • Then select Comm Config again.

  • Choose Wi-Fi from the options.

3. Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

  • The terminal will automatically scan for available SSIDs.

  • Select your desired network from the list.

  • Enter the Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard:

    • Use multi-tap input or T9 (like older cell phones) to type letters.

    • To enter special characters, repeatedly press the 0 key until the desired character appears.

  • Once the password is entered, select Connect.


Configure Status IP

1. Select the Favorites (★) button followed by 7. Comm Config.

2. Select 2. Comm Config followed by WIFI or Ethernet.

3. Select yourWIFI SSID followed by 2.Configure

4. Select 3. Set IP to update your IP Address.


Valor VL Series – Alpha Character Entry Reference (Multi-Tap Input)

Use the number keys to cycle through letters and characters. Press the same key multiple times to get the desired letter. For example, press 2 three times to enter the letter C.

* Press the 0 key repeatedly to cycle through special characters such as @, _, -, :, /, &, *, +, =, (, ), %, $, and #.


To Forget a Wi-Fi Network

Follow the same steps listed above.

  • When selecting the network, choose Forget instead of Connect.

Note: If you need to switch to another network, select the new network and connect. There is no manual disconnect option — connecting to a different network will replace the current one.

016666XX VL100 / VL110 Transaction Timeout This error is due to the timeout in the current screen. Please retry the transaction.
If any key is not working or input is not taken by the POS machine this could be a machine issue. Try rebooting the device and, if the same error is seen, hardware may need to be changed—contact the ISO.
016667XX VL100 / VL110 Invalid Password The password entered is invalid—ask the user to enter the valid password. For password related queries contact support@valorpaytech.com.
If any key is not working or input is not taken by the POS machine this could be a machine issue. Try rebooting; if the error persists, hardware may need to be changed—contact the ISO.
016668XX VL100 / VL110 Invalid IP Address Please Try Again! This could also be an issue in the Valor network; try from other machines/locations. If the issue is only in one location it may be a local network issue—try switching WIFI ⇄ GPRS. If Valor network is down contact support@valorpaytech.com.
If the issue is only with one device the POS could be the problem; reboot the device. If an individual machine is the problem, escalate to the ISO.
016669XX VL100 / VL110 Invalid Amount Please enter a valid amount. If any query regarding password please escalate to support@valorpaytech.com.
016670XX VL100 / VL110 Invalid PIN Please ask user to enter a valid PIN. If the problem persists even with a valid PIN, escalate to support@valorpaytech.com.
094301XX VL100 / VL110 Connection Failed Invalid SSID Parameters Wi-Fi scan issue. Restart the POS and check if Wi-Fi is automatically selected. If not, remove and reconfigure Wi-Fi on the terminal. Also verify the Wi-Fi has internet. If unresolved, device may be the problem—contact support@valorpaytech.com.
094302XX VL100 / VL110 Connection Failed Invalid SSID Configuration Wi-Fi scan issue. Restart POS and verify auto-selection of Wi-Fi. If not, remove and reconfigure Wi-Fi (password/configuration). Check internet connectivity. If unresolved, contact support@valorpaytech.com.
094303XX VL100 / VL110 WiFi Not Open Try Again Later Wi-Fi scan issue. Rescan Wi-Fi from POS. Check whether other devices can connect; if not, restart the router. If others connect normally, restart the POS. If the problem persists, contact support@valorpaytech.com.
