Firmware Update for S80 Terminals

Firmware updates should be performed on every used S80 terminal when it is being reassigned from one merchant to another. Follow the steps below to complete a successful update.


How to Perform a Firmware Update

  1. Power off the terminal.

  2. Power the terminal back on.

  3. Immediately press and hold the Menu key (or FUNC for semi-integrated terminals).

    • Continue holding the key until the Download Options screen appears.

  4. Select Remote Download.

  5. Select New Download.

  6. Select TCP/IP.

  7. Enter the Remote IP: 216.238.144.195

    • To enter dots (.), press 1 and then the ALPHA key to filter keypad options.

  8. Enter the Port: 8582

  9. Enable DHCP.

    • If the merchant uses a static IP, do not enable DHCP. Instead, enter the static IP information manually.

  10. Enter the TID: 80808097 or 80808098

    • If the device successfully pings but still shows connection errors, try 80808080.

❗ Final Step Required
The terminal will display Download Complete 100%.
Press the power button to power cycle the device to complete the update.

 


First Data Merchants — Device ID Requirement

If the merchant is using First Data, a new Device ID must be requested only for used terminals. (New terminals are not affected.)

How to Request a New Device ID

  1. Submit a request using the provisioning form:
    https://envoybusinesssystems.formstack.com/forms/provision_request

  2. Once you receive the file build from EPI (via email), open the file in Paxstore.

  3. Edit the file to add the new Device ID under the First Data Omaha tab.
