This guide outlines the steps to resolve a connection error on the Elavon A80 terminal when attempting to close a batch, even when the device is connected to the internet. The process includes verifying security details, working with Elavon to force close the batch, confirming terminal date and time, and purging the batch to restore proper batching functionality.


Elavon A80 – Connection Error When Batching

When attempting to close the batch, the merchant receives a connection error even though the terminal is connected to the internet.

📞 Contact Elavon Premier Services
  1. Call Elavon Premier Services.
  2. Verify security — the short name is msp0emis.
  3. Have Elavon force close the batch.

 

Have the merchant confirm the terminal’s date and time are correct. If not, update them (refer to A Series Date/Time Change)

Once the date and time are correct, have the merchant go to:

  • Func

  • Batch

  • Purge Batch

  • Enter the password when prompted

After completing these steps, the merchant should be able to close the batch successfully.

If the merchant encounters a connection error when trying to close the batch, despite being connected to the internet, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Elavon Premier Services:
    a. Call Elavon Premier Services for assistance.

  2. Verify Security:
    a. Confirm the security short name: msp0emis.

  3. Request a Forced Batch Close:
    a. Ask Elavon to force close the batch on their end.

  4. Check Date and Time on the Terminal:
    a. Have the merchant confirm that the terminal’s date and time are correct.
    b. If they are incorrect, update them (refer to the A Series Date/Time Change ).

  5. Purge the Batch:
    a. Once the date and time are correct, instruct the merchant to:
    b. Go to Func
    c. Select Batch
    d. Choose Purge Batch
    e. Enter the password when prompted

After completing these steps, the merchant should be able to close the batch without errors.
