Troubleshooting: Drag-Down Menu Will Not Appear

    2. Forget any networks not being used.

    3. Disconnect and reconnect to the intended Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting Step Details
Still Not Connecting? Additional Steps
  • Power-cycle the terminal.
  • Power-cycle the Wi-Fi router.
  • Remove any VPN or guest network restrictions.
  • Use a port checker tool to verify required ports are open.
    Recommended: yougetsignal.com – Open Port Checker .
  • Note: This test must be run at the merchant's location for accurate results.
  • Confirm the merchant network allows outbound traffic on required ports (if applicable).
  • If the issue continues, escalate to support for network evaluation and device diagnostics.
Check Time & Date Settings Go to Settings ⚙️ → System → Date & Time. Enable Automatic Date & Time, then reboot the terminal to ensure secure connections work properly.
Verify Airplane Mode is Off Swipe down or open Settings ⚙️ and confirm Airplane Mode is Off so that Wi-Fi and other radios are enabled.
Confirm 2.4GHz Network Availability Ensure the router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network. If only 5GHz is available, have the merchant enable a 2.4GHz SSID and connect the terminal to that network.
Restart the Payment Application If Wi-Fi shows connected but payments fail, close the payment app completely (square button → swipe away), reopen it, and run a test transaction.
Clear Network Cache (Advanced) In Settings ⚙️ → Network → Wi-Fi, forget all unused networks. Turn Wi-Fi Off for 10 seconds, turn it On again, then reconnect to the desired network.
Check for Proxies or Firewalls Confirm there's no proxy required and that firewalls are not blocking payment traffic. Whitelist the terminal's IP and required ports using a port checker if needed.
Low Battery Power Mode Go to Settings ⚙️ → Battery and ensure Battery Saver is turned Off. Keep the terminal plugged in and test again, as low power mode may limit Wi-Fi performance.
