Clearing the Database on PAX A-Series Devices

Use the steps below to properly upload terminal logs and clear the database on PAX A-Series terminals before requesting a forced batch close. This process applies to standard A-Series terminals and the A35 PIN pad.


Before You Begin: Upload Pax Logs

Before making any changes to the terminal or its file system, upload the terminal logs.

Upload Logs from the BPOS (BroadPOS) Application

  1. Open the BPOS (Credit Card Application).

  2. Select Func.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Enter the password (today’s date in MMDDYYYY format; example: 04292025).

  5. Select About BroadPOS.

  6. Select Log Upload.

Upload Logs from PAXSTORE App

  1. Exit the BPOS application.

  2. Open the PAXSTORE app.

  3. Tap the hamburger menu ☰ (top-left corner).

  4. Select More.

  5. Tap Upload Terminal Logcat.

  6. Select Logcat, then tap Upload.

  7. Wait 20 seconds.

  8. Select Detail Log, then tap Upload.


Clearing the Database on PAX A-Series Terminals

Follow these steps before calling the processor for a forced batch close.

  1. Open the Payments application.

  2. Tap Func.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Enter the password (today’s date in MM/DD/YYYY format).

  5. Navigate to Other Settings.

  6. Select Clear All or Clear Database.

  7. When prompted “Are you sure?”, select Yes.

  8. The terminal should display “Database Cleared.”

Once complete, proceed to call [Processor Name] to request a forced batch close.


Clearing the Database on PAX A35 PIN Pad

If using a PAX A35 PIN pad:

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings.

  2. Enter the System Password.

  3. Tap System.

  4. Select Reset Options.

  5. Tap Erase All Data (Factory Reset).

  6. Select RESET DEVICE.

  7. Tap ERASE EVERYTHING to confirm.
